Back in 2016, while having a drink with some friends, I talked about how awesome it would be to join a big supercar rally. Lacking the budget and also a supercar, I went down a rabbit hole on how to organize my own rally; one that would be inclusive to everyone with an affordable price point. In 2017, Show Me Rally was born. There was no website, only a Facebook event page. The decal "kits" were ordered from the internet, no team t-shirts or swag, every team paid for their own room, but there were fun events, competitions, trophies, and prizes, and the cost was only $150. Five strangers signed up for the first SMR to Dallas, and that experience and memories, along with the friendships made will last a lifetime.  After the Dallas rally, I was determined to make the Show Me Rally the best rally for everyday car enthusiasts. in 2018 registration jumped to 16 teams. More events and items were added onto the registration; lessons were learned about hotel accommodations and under pricing. I realized its time to get structured, so a website was created and a budget plan per head was made. in 2019 SMR grew to 46 teams. Every year, I focus on improving what works, fixing what doesn't, and adding new elements to make the next rally even better. I strive to make the next rally better than the last. One thing remains the same and will never change; this isn't a business and I am not in it to make money. SMR was created so that everyone can participate in and enjoy a rally that we have all dreamed about. The registration fee goes directly to your experience and the cost of making that experience happen.
